Alan McLean, QC, Stable Director of the Hastie Stable, was instructed for the Scottish Football League in Dundee FC’s recent appeal to the Scottish Football Association Appeals Committee. The club had been docked 25 championship points and had a player transfer embargo imposed after going into administration late last year. At a hearing held at Hampden Park on 14th January 2011, the SFL’s decisions on the appropriate treatment of Dundee were substantially upheld by the SFA tribunal after a legal debate. Alan is no stranger to Hampden, having appeared there for the SFL in 2009 in Livingston FC’s similar appeal against their demotion to SFL Division 3. The SFL decision was upheld on that occasion too, following an evidential hearing and legal submissions.
