Alison Stirling was junior counsel for the pursuers who sought damages from the local council in respect of the death of their husband/father who was killed by the council tenant next door.  Baroness Hale of Richmond described the case as "the latest in a long line of cases from Scotland which have played such an important part in shaping the law of negligence for the whole of the United Kingdom"
