Michael came to Scotland after serving Company Law and Chancery Pupillages at the English Bar. He spent ten years with Dixon Minto in Edinburgh before calling at the Scottish Bar in 1996. Since calling Michael has specialised in Community Law, Company Law, Insolvency Law and Commercial Litigation. In addition to his extensive opinion practice in Company, Insolvency and EC Law, Michael has appeared before Employment Tribunals, Sheriff Courts, the Outer House and the Inner House of the Court of Session and the Privy Council. He is frequently instructed in proceedings in the Commercial Court in Edinburgh.

Michael is also instructed in all types of Employment Law matters including: Unfair Dismissal; Discrimination; Wrongful Dismissal; Restrictive Covenants; PHI benefits; Pension benefits, TUPE; etc.
