Joanna called to the Bar in 1995 and has since gained extensive experience in the Court of Session – Inner and Outer Houses, the Sheriff Court, appeals to the Sheriff Principal, the Employment Tribunal, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, Fatal Accident Inquiries and Mental Health Appeals. She has also conducted a number of High Court Trials in her capacity as an Advocate Depute. Joanna has the reputation of being a formidable and fearless performer in court and is also well known for her attention to detail.

Joanna has a particular expertise in Medical Negligence and high value Personal Injury cases and regularly receives instructions in these matters from both pursuers and defenders. She also practices in the areas of Mental Health, Public and Administrative law and Employment law.
