Marian’s experience of working at the highest levels of industry prior to coming to the Bar includes Legal Adviser to Societe Generale, Westland Aircraft Ltd and Senior Legal Counsel and Company Secretary to SmithKline Beecham. This results in her having a practical understanding of many issues in which she now finds herself involved. As a result of her background and ongoing involvement in French Law and her linguistic ability, she is regularly instructed in cases with a foreign element. This has included leading cases in the House of Lords.
Two of Marian’s specialist areas of practice and expertise lie in Medical Negligence and Aviation. She has excellent medical and technical knowledge which means that she is good at picking up complicated issues and understanding them immediately. Recently she has been involved in a number of Fatal Accident Inquiries, one of which related to a helicopter accident. Marian’s substantial knowledge of aviation proved to be invaluable.
