David’s experience as a solicitor with the then Central Regional Council means that he has had hands-on experience of the bulk of  Local Government issues.

David has undertaken a wide range of work in the course of developing his career at the Bar. He has been involved in a contested Family Law Appeal to the Inner House and a lengthy Freeing for Adoption Proof as well as appearing at a number of Planning Inquiries. He has extensive experience of Statute Law interpretation, which was highlighted by his writing the entire Commentary to the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. He has also acted as Prosecutor and as Defence Counsel in a significant number of Criminal cases at Sheriff and Jury.

David is sincere, hard working, approachable and fair. He maintains a good working relationship with those involved in his cases.
